Plone System Management

A 1 day course for system adminstrators to learn how to setup, backup and install additional open source products to extend existing Plone system

Objectives

  • Install and configure Plone application on Linux/Unix based servers
  • Backup and Restore
  • Configure port direction and virtual hosting eg. make a site installed as http://localhost:8080 be accessible as http://intranet.myorganization.com

Prerequisites

Skills

  • Basic Linux CLI (permissions, cp/mv, tar)
  • Basic networking knowledge such as which ports a web server listens on and tcp/ip networking

Technical

  • Linux or Unix based server such as MacOSX or FreeBSD
  • Clients with ssh access to server
